Group of ovarian diseases, often changes color from yellow white to black. Causes sterility.
-Black eggs: Black grain like matter in ovary tubes. Caused by low temperatures – dysfunction of the metabolism of melanine reserves
-Melanosis H: Nodular black lesions in ovary, vagina, rectum and poison gland. Caused by fungus ‘Melanosella mors apis’. Infection peroraly by pollen.
-Melanosis B: Ovaries become black (no nodules), disease takes time to completely manifest. Mostly in young queen bees. Caused by ‘Aerobacterium cloacae jordani’.
